“WHAT WE DO”

 

Eagle’s Wings is an organization of dedicated community volunteers in St. Charles County committed to serving children who are in need.  Our mission is, “Helping Kids Soar!”  By providing children with some basic necessities – clothes, shoes, coats, etc., we hope to build their self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-worth allowing them to be successful in school and in life.  Imagine walking down the hallway of school in shoes that are two sizes too small or too large, with clothing that doesn’t fit and shows significant signs of wear.  Imagine needing to stay inside when your friends go out to play because you do not have a coat.  It would be difficult to feel good about yourself.

 

Twice per year, once in the Fall and again in the Spring, we bring shopping days to the children we serve.  We set up “shops” in a school classroom where the children come shop for free.  The children attending are selected by their school counselors.

 

THE GIFT

 

During the Fall Shopping Day students will be given the opportunity to choose:

 

• 3 long-sleeve shirts

• 3 pairs of pants

• 3 pairs of socks

• 3 pairs of underwear

• Pair of pajamas

• Warm winter coat

• Hats & Gloves

• Pair of Athletic Shoes

 

During the Spring Shopping Day students will be given the opportunity to choose:

 

• 3 short-sleeve shirts

• 3 pairs of shorts

• 3 pairs of socks

• 3 pairs of underwear

• Pair of Athletic Shoes

 

These gifts are invaluable.
